Experimentation / selected winner

A Trial Reel became an 833K-view winner.

Project Monet tested literary content through Trial Reels during Rune Gibril's launch. A Toni Morrison Reel stood out and was shared to the main feed. By 31 October 2026, its Instagram Insights showed 833,235 lifetime views and 315 Reel-attributed follows; a later public counter recorded 833,301 plays. These totals include its life after sharing, not trial-only distribution.

Give a new direction room to prove itself

The first Reel had already established that poetry could earn attention. Trials offered another way to investigate literary subjects before deciding what to bring into the main feed. The Toni Morrison Reel became the clearest selected example of that process.

The important decision was to test, observe the response and then share the winner more widely. We do not have a frozen trial-only extract or an exact promotion timestamp to publish, so this study does not invent either one.

What the winning Reel recorded

The 31 October Instagram Insights screenshot shows 833,235 views, 584,612 viewers, 315 follows and a 12-second average watch time. The follow count is attributed to this Reel by Instagram. A later public snapshot shows 833,301 plays and 85,302 likes.

These figures describe the same Reel at different capture times. Neither is an A/B experiment against the first Reel, and the lifetime total cannot be split into trial and main-feed distribution from this evidence alone.

One selected success is not the whole test set

The first-week delivery record includes four trial experiments. One became a standout and was shared to the main feed. This page features that approved winner; it does not present a win rate benchmark or imply that all four trials reached similar numbers.

The original trial and the shared Reel must not be counted as two independent successes. The 833K headline refers to one distinct Reel and its lifetime counter. It is also separate from the account's dashboard-wide view total.

A useful testing discipline

For this account, the lesson is to keep experimenting within a relevant literary world and review more than reach alone. A widely viewed test can be worth continuing when it also earns follows or other meaningful responses, but those signals still need context.

The next experiment should answer a specific question: another author, another form of reading, a different opening, or a clearer connection to Rune Gibril's identity. Change deliberately and preserve a dated record. This is how an early success can inform the next decision without becoming a promise of repeated virality.
